Nigel Cabourn, Eddie Bauer and Granted

Nigel Cabourn Authentic in collaboration with a Eddie Bauer and Granted hand knits.  UK Designer, Nigel Cabourn designs quality garments with inspirations by accessing the archives of Eddie Bauer’s vintage museum of great American outerwear dating back from 1920 to the 1950s.

This uniquely detailed goose design jumper was added to Cabourn's 2012-2013 F/ W line. Patterns and motif placement are collected elements from a vintage knitted hunting pattern. Other details such as the original Eddie Bauer flying goose pattern and Cabourn's custom zippers and collar button closure.

"I'm not really interested in doing things that don't work in the long term. All of the fabrics I use are really wonderful, really practical. It's clothing for men, after all."
Nigel Cabourn

Driftwood- Handmade Granted sign

Our artist friend Mr.Shiga made a wonderful handmade Granted sign for our showroom. With his artist skills and background he was able to create a sign that complimented the handmade aspects of our brand

It only took a piece of drift wood, wood varnish, nails, wool and imagination, from there he was able to make a regular piece of wood into something amazing. Take a look at some of the steps taken when building this wooden sign.

Local driftwood found along Vancouvers 3rd beach. The piece was polished and varnished with some antique finish stain.

Nails placed outlining our Granted font.

Finished logo with the placed nails painted white so they can bee seen on the drift wood. Kind of has a analog "Tron" like feel eh?

Our wool carefully placed within the walls of the nails.

Finished driftwood sign. All handmade just like our sweaters. Now it just needs to be hung up in our showroom!

Store Feature: Powder Company (Niseko, Japan)

A shop in the heart of the famous ski resort Niseko in Hokkaido, Japan. Powder company is a unique blend of retail space and back country guided tours.

I had the pleasure of riding with the best local guides deep in their backyard. Slashing powder and pillow lines all day.

Keep an eye out for a collaboration with Powder Company in the near future!

Special thanks to:

Our wool

Wool processing from our actual woolen mill in New Zealand.

From raw wool to finished roving.

Looking at sheep always reminds me of the nursery rhyme most of us grew up with. Did you ever wonder what it meant?

"Baa, baa black sheep have you any wool?
Yes sir, yes sir three bags full!
One for the master, one for the dame, one for the little boy that lives down the lane."

Brand Feature: Lichen (Cherryville, BC)

The Lichen story:

Originally from Winnipeg, the designer, Kerri returned to her hometown after she sought after some unestablished roots.  Longing for the home stead life she found a small town off the map.  There she used her jewelery making skills with some local and non-toxic materials and discovered antler. Because there are more deer there than humans, antlers seemed a good match for her. She is truly grateful that there are plenty of these natural materials around.

Each piece is unique, colored perfectly without ever being able to duplicate its perfection. Leaving the unfinished antler pieces to stand naturally on its own, or sometimes adding some bands of color to give it that extra flair.
